"Osiris - I can haz Euro spec?" (o51r15)

Hey Oppo. Anyone ever shipped a car using Door To Door Transport before? I'm having a hell of a time with these guys and I was wondering if anyone had had any of the same issues I'm having. Here's a Quattro for penance.
So here's the story. I'm currently stationed in Anchorage, AK. I bought a car in Sterling, VA. Great dealer to buy from. Everything with them went according to plan and if I'm ever stationed in Virginia, I'd buy from them again. However, the dealer doesn't do shipping so I had to go through another company for the shipping. Ended up using Door To Door because there price was right and I was told I'd have the car anytime between the 11th and the 17th. Oh wait, it's the 21st and I still don't have the keys. The individual told me it would be here on Friday (the 18th, day late but whatever, I just need the car). I call him up on Friday because I never received the email stating where to go to pick it up (something I had called about every other day as well as the fact that they hadn't yet charged me for the first leg of the trip. Virginia to Washington). Every time I had called him prior to Friday, he told me that there email server was having issues and that as soon as it was resolved, I would have my email. As someone who works in IT, it doesn't take that long to fix a server. On Friday, I called and he said that Geek Squad was there to fix everything and I would have the email in a matter of a half hour or so. Two hours later I called him letting him know I still didn't have it and he said that it was actually because I hadn't made my first payment and being as such, it locked out my account until that payment was made. So he was unable to send me the email until I complied. Now I'm pissed. I called at least 5 or 6 times letting him know I had not been billed yet and he just brushed it off. So I'm throwing all my work to the side and running from office to office to try and get things printed out, signed, scanned, and emailed so they can process my payment. It just so happens that our networked printers died that day so I had to find people with local printers who were willing to help. I finally get the payment authorization paperwork sent to him and he lets me know that his one and only accounting individual is on "her first vacation in years". No shit. His words. He tells me that he'll see if she can run the payment while she's relaxing and then let me know when it's done. He also let me know that he'll help me out and stay at work until 10pm his time (6pm my time) to make sure this gets taken care of. Well he left his work at 3pm my time. So after numerous calls and no answers, I gave up for the night. Then I find out that they're closed on weekends. So now it's Monday. Still don't have my car that I desperately need because trying to move around with two adults and two car seats in an Aveo just doesn't work. So now, on Monday, I've been calling him every half hour or so and he keeps telling me that as soon as he knows something, he'll call me and let me know. I'm just so sick and tired of this. Please, for the love of God, do not go through Door To Door Transport. I would have rather payed a little more money to go with another company.
End Rant.

That sucks! What kind of car did you get?
I assume the Aveo is becoming a rally car.

Yup, you get what you pay for. Sorry to hear about this, but life happens. Try not to flip out on the guy too badly. He's (probably) doing his best.
I recently had some body work done on my car for WAY too cheap, I should have known. The car came back and the guy did more damage than good. Live and learn, spend the extra money next time... if there is a next time. Sounds like shipping a car sucks. One of these days I'll buy a car from across the country, fly out, and drive the car back home. But I doubt that was a possibility for you.

Can you file a theft report on the car, or at least tell the shipper that you have? He has your vehicle, and, past the date of the 18th of the month without your permission, additipnally (if I am understanding this correctly) he refuses to tell you where it is, or how to "ransom it".
NOTE: I ain't no stinkin' lawyer, and my probation officer has warned not to give any more damn'd legal advice, OK?

We got a 2010 Explorer. And I honestly wish I had to money to turn the Aveo into a rally car. That'd be awesome!

Ha ha I doubt I'd be able to file a theft report. I did make a contract with this company and according to them I just have to wait until the first payment is taken care of and then I get the location. It's pretty stupid in my opinion.

Ha ha But honestly, how awesome would it be to see a car that shouldn't be there, rallying. It already has relatively good ground clearance. Maybe an inch or two more and it'd be perfect!

This has nothing to do with getting what you pay for. This company was actually a right in the middle price wise. This is just bad business. They're not doing their jobs.

Ahh, that's a tough break. I had the impression that you went just a little bit on the "budget" side. If it was in the middle price-wise then that's bad luck and some crappy coincidences.
The accountant is on vacation? I'm all for being honest, but I agree, that is not an excuse to simply stop doing business.. It was probably a small business, but you need to figure things out, it's part of the deal. And sometimes that means staying in the office until 10PM when you PROMISED SOMEONE THAT YOU WOULD! That's a dick move that the guy left the office on you. You don't have to go out of your way, but if you say you will, stick to it. That's the worst.
I hope you get the car soon and in good shape. Is it an Audi Quattro like your pic?

Go to their website and click "file a complaint" or something like that. It'll walk you through it. Good luck!

Oh, I got all excited for a second there. Good luck figuring everything out, it's no fun to get screwed, especially when the guy screwing you is trying to pass the blame off on someone else.
